Marilyn
Manson
Genre:
Hard Rock, Goth Rock. Alternative Rock
I
hated this album when it can out; I basically didn’t understand what the hell
Manson was trying to do. I basically wanted him to do a new Anti-Christ Superstar
or Mechanical Animals over and over again. Years later after listening to the
garbage of Pale Emperor his latest album I sat down to listen to this album and
discovered what a gem this productions is.
Vocals
and Lyrics: This album is as introspective and personal for Manson as you can
get, you real get to see him in another light. 8
Instrumentation:
Tim Skold is credited for almost all of the instrumentation; he does a great
job, his old school bluesy guitar solos kick butt and make a deference. 7
Melody and/or Structure: The songs have a pretty simple in structure and
melody has a more central role. 8
Sound,
Production and Feeling: The Album sounds good, but it’s too clean cut, an In
Utero treatment would have elevated this album to a classic. 7
Songs:
The album is really solid no fillers. 11
The
Bad:
Originality:
Even though this album isn’t ground breaking, it’s refreshing to hear that Mr.
Warner is trying new stuff. 8
Overall:
49
