I against
I (1986)
Genre: Hardcore
Punk, Alternative Metal, New Wave
.
Total
brilliance these guys are doing stuff way before its time, their style of
alternative metal doesn’t really catch on before the 90’s, and they actual play some 80’s
inspired New Wave stuff that is also really good, so here we go with my brief
review of this Excellent album from the 80’s, and one of the best in their catalogue.
.
Vocals and Lyrics: H R is at his vocal best, his
unpredictable vocal style and lyrics are one of the aspects that make this
album so engaging, and H R actual sings one of the songs “Sacred Love” on
telephone from the prison now that’s hardcore, technically pretty complicated
in a world with no pro-tools. 10
Instrumentation: The band sounds super tight and
professional it a incredible contrast with H R’s craziness, these dude are
experts in their craft. 7.1
Melody and/or Structure: These guy musically bring a
lot to the hardcore punk table really mixing things up for the genre, really
pushing it forward in a composition level 10
Sound, Production and Feeling: It sound very 80’s for
good and for bad, very high energy album in general. 8
Songs: They are all classics. 10
Originality: It’s hard to find this mix of innovation
and mature musicianship so well balanced that reaches the caliber of these
dudes. 10
Overall: 55.1
