Paul McCartney One on One Tour Cordoba 15/05/2016

Paul McCartney

One on One Tour

Cordoba 15/05/2016

Before I start I'm going to tell you guys  my crazy story about my last few days training to meet Paul before the show and trying to get  free tickets to the concert ( note I'm totally broke and I didn't have the means to buy the tickets, or I would have gotten front row). Now before I start, I must explain to you guys that even though I am a Metal /Funky head, I have a very special place for the Beatles because my Dad was and is a hardcore fan Beatlemaniac so their albums were always playing at my house, this has really influenced my musical taste, I have the original sheet music to all of their songs and during a time I learnd how to play most of it, and since I'm a bass player I tend to gravitate to Paul Mccartney's body of work more than any other Beattles.
So when I found out that Paul was coming to town I was super happy, but this didn't last because the Tickets were too expensive, and Argentina's economy is pretty much in the gutter for at least  year now and inflation has left me totally broke. I knew that Paul had to go through a certain place where I work ( which I'm not going to mention because I Don't want to lose my job that I love), but my boss told me I couldn't be there when he arrived, for many security reasons. So I snuck into my work a police and a police offer kicked me out right when he arrived, so a ran around the building a pretty much jump a fence and I saw his Hofner Bass right in front of me, (yes McCartney travels with his bass), and Paul pop out and actually got to say hi to the guy and he was super cool. And the incredible thing the day of the concert I had called all of my contacts to see if I could get free tickets somehow, but pretty much out of know where I got a call 40 minuts before the concert from a person that totally surprised me that gave me his ticket, that probably the nicest thing that someone has ever done for me and I have eternal gratitude to that person that I can't mention.
Se let not waste more time and get to my review  of the  show:

Vocals and showmanship: Paul is almost 74 and he sang for almost 3 hours, he really tried to communicate the  audience taking his time, cracking a couple of jokes, you don't get that very often from international artist. 10

Instrumentation: Man his band is solid hell and  they know their chops, and Paul's playing holds up pretty well. 7.5

Sound: The show sounded great very balanced, but the kick drum could have been higher in the mix. 9

Visuals: Normal the few bands that come to my city don't bring their complete tour on a visual level, but Paul did lead screens, moving plat, trippy piano, explosions, flamethrowers and fireworks, the dude went all out. 12

Setlist: Good balanced between his  classic solo stuff, new solo songs and classic Beatles, he left nothing out. 15
